Career History

2009 – present (On Call)

  • Interpreting for 4 sessions of 16-week Partner Assault Response (PAR) programs
  • Certified community language interpreter after graduation from MCIS
  • ILSAT certified in Ontario
  • Interpreting on Insurance, Family Court, Verbatim Reporting, Litigation Support, Chiropractic, Psychological, Physiatry and OT assessments assignments for Health Institutions, CAS, Insurers, Ontario Works, etc..
  • Translated several brochures for Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto Police, MCIS, etc. on Terracotta Warriors exhibition, Caregiver Support, Special Crimes Investigation, Letter of Intent for Business, Children’s Aid Society visa support letters, Hearing Aid Program and Immigration and Citizenship.
  • Translated tens of thousands of words for Zhongguancun where I served from 2002 to 2005 for its annual Zhongguancun Forum schedule in late October 2010 including handbooks, resumes of participants, meeting agenda and key-note speech of China’s top leader.

2005 – 2009 Translator and Manager/ Assistant Manager Deloitte China

  • Translated, edited, proofread more than 5 million Chinese characters since joining Deloitte in such fields as audit, tax, consulting and financial services as well as technical reports on manufacturing, real estate and TMT (telecommunications, media and technology)
  • Interpreted for the CEO of Deloitte China

2002 – 2005 Principal Interpreter and Translator, the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park of the Beijing Municipal Government

  • Interpreted for the committee leaders in international conferences and overseas visits
  • Interpreted for the Beijing Olympics Clean Energy Workshop held at Algonne National Laboratory of Chicago, a Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology and US Department of Energy joint workshop
  • Translated, edited and proofread the bylaws, regulations and other policies of the Park for external publicity purposes on such new strategic industries like new-generation IT, new materials, new energy, bio-pharmaceuticals, space industry and new-energy automobiles
  • Seconded by the Ministry of Communications to interpret for the IMO Diplomatic Conference on Anti-Terrorism (December 2002) and the 23rd Session of the Assembly of IMO (November 2003)

  • Interpreter trainee at the Headquarters of IMO from April 1999 to April 2000
  • Interpreted for the 21st Assembly in December, 1999
